Location

  The Derbyshire Pennine Club hut is in the village of Stoney Middleton in the grounds of Stoney Middleton Hall (SK 231755), and is approached through an entrance 80 metres/yards to the East of the Moon Inn, on the North side of the A623. See link to map of area and map of hut location.

Accommodation

There are bunks for 12 persons and mattresses for 3 more sleeping on the floor. The sleeping accommodation is in one upper room, and in an area partitioned from that room is (a) a wash place with electric shower and 2 wash hand basins (b) a separate toilet and wash hand basin. Downstairs is a living-dining area, with 2 cookers, microwave oven, sink and hot (electric heater - please follow instructions carefully) and cold water. The kitchen also houses a fridge, 2 electric toasters & 2 electric kettles, adequate crockery, glasses and cutlery as well as a 'flippa' bin. The hut is heated by night storage heaters in winter (electricity - no gas in hut). There is a multifuel stove to heat the hut with a coal store and wood shed outside. There is car parking for several cars in the immediate vicinity of the hut and overflow parking is allowed on the east side of the drive.

Fire Precautions

Please ensure that you are familiar with the fire drill when you first sign the register. The upstairs fire door must not be propped open.

Key

A key for the front door will be provided by the Hut Booking Secretary prior to your visit. Please return the key as soon as possible after your visit.

Guests under age 15..... £4.00 per night

Please make cheques payable to the "Derbyshire Pennine Club". These can be posted to the Hut Booking Secretary with the keys. Alternatively payment can be left in the box provided.

Notes

1] Prior booking and the payment of the deposit is essential through the Hut Booking Secretary (address above).

2] Animals and radios are prohibited.

3] Those using the Hut must acquaint themselves with the Hut rules (which are posted up in the Hut) and they should strictly adhere to those rules, especially those concerning the winter water supply.

4] Sleeping bags, blankets and towels are not provided.

5] Electricity supply is included in the fees.

6] Please take your rubbish home. There is no collection.

7] To preserve good neighbour relations, the grounds of Stoney Middleton Hall are strictly out of bounds. As there are residents near to hand please observe sensible noise levels especially late at night. Please ensure the blinds are drawn down on departure.

8] There is a village shop / post office 100 yards west of the Hut on the A623. It is open Monday to Saturday 9.00am to 5.30pm, with early closing on Wednesday. Also closed for lunch 1.00 to 2.00pm.
